Sorry for the delay we were having major computer problems yet again. We ended up having to get a couple of iPads. At least I can see the keyboard, though keyboards have been ordered an they should be here next week. There is a bit of a learning curved involved with changing computer formats, windows to tablet, but we will survive this also.
Today I will be purchasing the last of the parts that I need to build my solid state generator for my motor home. I am starting to build the air core transformers this weekend, then will complete the electronic circuit by Wednesday, then comes the most exciting part and that is the testing.
The generator that I am building is simply a modified Don Smith circuit that produces 120 volts at 60 hz. The use that I have for this circuit is to give me unlimited power in the motor home. I will be starting the system with a 12 volt battery which will run my 555 timer chip that is designed to give me a 60 hz output that will drive a power FET transistor. The FET transistor will then drive the primary coil of the modified tesla coil. The secondary coil should have 120 volt 60 hz output going to the load.
I plan to use a small amount of this output power to convert back to 12 volts DC, which is impossible to do I know but I am going to be trying it anyway. My theory is that it should all work fine with enough power to run everything that we need.
This blog is going to be short as I am having a hard time typing on the iPad. Next week I will have a real keyboard and will get down to the business of really blogging. Please be patient as this situation will soon be remedied.
I'm loving the adventure. Thanks for taking us all along.
