This will be my last blog for a while

Hi everyone, I know it has been a long time between blogs. This is what is happening.

I started a business that is going to help reduce the harmful effects of the exhaust fumes from our North American trucks and automobiles. The spin off is that there is a reduction of the fuel that is consumed by as much as 30 to 65% minimum, plus most vehicles experience an increase in power and a cleaner running engine.

I am importing these hydrogen fuel booster directly from the manufacturer. I will now have to hire a sales force around the country. If anyone is interested in helping me save the environment send me a resume at hydrogenking@yahoo.com.

I know that for the next 5 years I am going to be very busy and will not have time to post very many blogs.

Our world needs saving and what I am doing is such a small part, but if we all work together we will be able to make a difference for our children and for generations to come.

So long for now.

Knowledge

Knowledge

I just picked up a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. I had read this book many years ago, but this time I started to understand what the author was trying to convey to his readers. I am now starting to put some of his principals into practice. I know that my life is going to change from now on as I am now aware of the things that I need to change in the way that I am spending my money as well as my energies.

I am starting to realize that the knowledge that we were all taught in school was mostly wasted as most of us use very little of what we learned in school in our every day lives. Don't get me wrong I do believe in the learning that we get in schools as it teaches us how to learn other subjects that are important to our personal lives.

History is an important subject but for some reason even though we learned in school what the results were of previous civilizations we do the same thing over and over again. I guess that is where the saying "history repeats its self" comes from.

In science and physics, at least when I went to school we learned a lot of theories of how things worked. Some of those theories have been replaced by new theories as our technology and knowledge increases. A theory is only someones idea as to how something works and is not necessarily a fact. I see this all the time in my research for free energy devices. It seems that everyone, especially scientists have a great need to be able to explain how it works. If the device does not fall into the current theories of the day then the device can not possibly work even though they have a working model of the device in front of them.

Another good example of how our knowledge has evolved is at one time people thought that the earth was flat and if you sailed out in the ocean too  far you would fall off the edge of the world.

Knowledge is of very little value unless you use it. I have many personal friends that want their lives to be different but for some reason never change anything that they are presently doing. They read books and learn how to change their lives so that they can achieve their life's goals and then for some reason they do not follow through. Their newly learned knowledge was of little value to them.

My theory from observing people and their behaviours over the last 50 years is that most people have a great fear of changing their life patterns even though the change would enable them to reach their goals.

A salesman would get very few sales if he did not overcome his call reluctance and call on prospective customers. The salesman had to first change his or her thinking, to overcome their fears before they can proceed. This is the same thing that all of us has to do to make a change in our lives.

Almost every week you see on the news this company's  or that company's employees are on strike. The employee's for the most part believe that it is the company that is to blame for them not having enough money, or holidays, or benefits, etc. The question is it? In the country that I live in we are not told that we have to work at this job or that job but still a large percentage of employees never change their jobs all of their working lives.

I personally have a very hard time understanding this type of thinking or reluctance to change. A lot of people live in one city for all of their adult lives unless their jobs or a natural disaster require them to move.

When we first moved into a motorhome there was a lot of people that we met were so envious of our decision, did anyone change their lifestyle and follow us on the road? No one ever did they did not want to give up their security and all the things that they had accumulated over the years.  No two people love exactly the same life style when it comes down to it. But I have no idea why there are so many people living the same life style and yet are not really happy.

A lot of people have been reading this blog from all around the world, and I really have no idea how many of those readers are really just researching alternative energy ore are really working on an alternative energy device of their own.

If any one is working on an alternative energy device let me know so that I can either find articles pertaining to your experiments and post them.

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

The Awakening

The Awakening

July 03, 2013

I woke up this morning with part of the puzzle solved about why some people are rich and others are poor like myself.

The answer is quite simple, the world all revolves around money, those who have it and those who don't.

Everyone has heard the saying "The Rich Get Richer and The Poor Get Poorer". I believe that statement is true, but why is that? The world economy is floundering, the middle class are fast disappearing, and the poor are getting poorer, yet the people with money seem to be prospering even more than they did in the past. The question is: why is this happening?

I honestly believe that most of our  school systems and their teachers teach the children of today more about having a good work ethic, doing the best job that they can and little to nothing about the importance of having money. The reason, I believe, is that most people today have no idea about the real importance of money. The book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" explains a lot of things as to the focus of the two dads. I read the book years ago but didn't understand what the author was trying to teach... until this morning.

When I retired with only a small pension to live on, the knowledge that, somehow after all those years of working for wages, I did not have enough money to survive on comfortably hit me. Where did I go wrong?

I spent most of my working life trying to do the best job I could, otherwise the owner of the company would find someone else to do the job. Today we call that 'workplace stress'.

Ask yourself this: for however many years that you have been working what has been your main focus, the job, helping others, or the money? You need to be honest with your answer.

It does not follow that the better that you are at a particular job, the more you will be paid or that you will be promoted. Usually the opposite is true. However, this is what is taught in schools: be good at your job and you'll get ahead.

All these things were running through my head when I woke up and I had to write them all down. Yes it is true that this is the way that I spent the last 55 years of my life and I have nothing except the satisfaction that I did good work to show for it. That satisfaction of doing a great job does not buy me anything today.

I decided that this morning I am going to change my focus on life. At the age of 70 I do not have as many years left to become wealthy as most younger people have, but I have accumulated a lot of experience through my lifetime that I can now use to my advantage.

Yesterday I read the following two quotes:

"Simply believe that your life has changed, and it will."

"You may not have control over the things that happen in your life - but you always have control over how you handle them."

These two little quotes made me realize that this is the way that I should have been living my life years ago.

The first step I personally had to address was to make sure that my body is physically able to accomplish what I am setting out to do. I have started this process by changing my diet and taking the right supplements to rebuild my body back to where it should have been if I had been taking care of my body for the last 70 years.

After 70 years of not looking after my body this seemed to be an enormous challenge if not an impossible one. I believe that most people take their body for granted. I know I did. Will I be able to repair the body to where it should be? Only time will tell, but at least I am trying to make it happen. I relate the body to a machine, by oiling the bearings the machine will last for an indefinite length of time. Without oil the machine will seize up and stop working.

Having a body that is working properly will allow me to be able to enjoy my new life.

This is the first in a new series on my quest for freedom and direction for my future. I hope that every one will learn from my experiences and not make the same mistakes. I will post the next part soon so please watch for it.

Looking Back

With the worlds economy struggling the way it is, our money not lasting until our next payday, and the rise of more extreme health problems, how can a struggling family today survive? Jobs that were once viewed as permanent are now disappearing due to technological developments, business failure, or business mergers.

Some people spend years learning how to do a particular job efficiently and then find there is no demand for that skill set, what do you do? An example of this is the professional photographer. 40 to 50 years photo studios were common in every town and city around the country. Today most people have drifted away from the traditional style of photography, and take the photographs that they want with their cel phone or tablet camera. Photographs today are shared on social media sites.

Some people are taking a second job, or even as many as three or four part time jobs just to be able to survive.  The problem with this that all they end up doing is working and sleeping, and eventually they start having physical problems and are not able to work as much due to health issues.

Is there an answer to the life's problems that we all are encountering?  I do not believe there is any one answer to this question as every ones problems are uniquely their own and are dependant on their own unique circumstances.

Being retired from the work force I can appreciate where every one is coming from as I was once there myself and now being retired and having to live on a small pension I am still here nothing has changed.

The biggest mistake that I made was not to look after my body now I am paying for that mistake. Hind site is 20/20 and that is a fact. The things I should have done is spend more time and effort keeping my body healthy and fit. And the second thing I should have done is work at a business that would give me a passive income even after I was retired from the traditional work force.

The past is the past and can not be changed. The only thing that we can control is the present and by changing what is happening today the future will have a different out come that if we continued doing what we are presently doing.

In the following blogs I will be talking about how we are changing the present by making a series of choices that will have an effect on our future. Yes I am still going to be continuing the alternative energy blog but that will not be until the fall, after we purchase  a home and I start building my own alternative energy source.

Until next time keep on keeping on.

2013 Alberta Gold Rush Adventures

The motorhome we purchased in British Columbia would not pass Alberta's safety inspection, then our car broke down. More expenses.

The good thing is that there is a large ice jam on the river and we could not start our prospecting adventure until this has broken up.

We are looking at another motorhome that the generator does not work. The bad thing is that we would not be able to get very much for a dead generator, but it will make me work harder to design and build a free energy device to provide the power for the motorhome.

Next week we will be on the river bank picking up all the gold. Wish us luck.

Until next time.

The Automobile of Today

I was talking to a friend yesterday about cars and their fuel economy. My friend had just purchased a new Ford that claimed to be able to get 43 miles per gallon on the highway.

My friend was surprised by the fact that I personally had owned a 1959 Renault back in the early 1960s that consistently achieved 50 miles per gallon and more recently I had owned a Chevy Sprint that achieved 60 miles per gallon. Both of these high milage vehicles have long since disappeared and have been replaced by the high fuel consumption vehicles of today.

My friend came back with the Smart car which gets excellent fuel economy for a two passenger vehicle. That is true but the Renault and the Sprint were both four passenger vehicles.

Today's technology has not been able to improve the efficiency of the internal combustion engine and produce high fuel economy vehicles. I wonder when the world is worried about the shortage of fuel there has not been greater improvements in fuel consumption of the automobile.

Today's vehicles have been designed in such a way that it is nearly impossible for the back yard mechanic to work on them without have to purchase very expensive specialized tools. I guess the advantage of these modern designed engine is that they are harder for the home mechanic to modify and improve on the fuel consumption.

During the era of the muscle cars (big engines) these cars were able to get 18 to 20 miles per gallon with out fuel injection and computer systems. These vehicles were heavier than today's automobiles. I owned a 1976 Lincoln Town Car that consistently got 23 miles per gallon on the highway with a huge engine for the time and weighed in at 7,000 pounds this was a bit of a gas guzzler compared to the cars of today, but when you compare the weight of the vehicles the older vehicles were a lot more efficient.

What has happened to our technology? Today everything seems to have a computer chip in it whether this is good or bad is anyone's guess but it seems to me that the world has become so dependant on the computer chip that if the computers should fail for any reason the device is rendered useless.

Old technology that has been replaced by new technology is not always the best answer, and definitely is not the most efficient use of technology.

Here is a question for all of my readers out there. What new inventions have you seen in the last decade that are not just upgrades or modifications to existing devices?

Until next time keep on researching and building.

Alberta Gold Rush 2013

Alberta Gold Rush 2013

We have been spending the last month getting organized and ready to travel East in the motorhome to our storage pod in Alberta.

It amazes me how much two people can accumulate over the winter, but when we are both book collectors it does not take too long to have two to three big boxes of books to appear if by magic among our belongings.

The great new decision by both of us is to only buy ebooks from now on. This will at least reduce the size and weight of the books that we have to carry with us.

I have to build a trommel classifier when we get to Alberta, put a lot of our acquired possessions into storage, and pick up all our gold processing equipment so that we can be ready to head to the gold fields of northern Alberta as soon as the ice is off the river. This is going to be a great summer.

On the rainy days that we are not able to prospect for gold I will be working on a piece of equipment that will allow me to generate electricity to power all the electric appliances in our motorhome.

I do not know at this time if the motorhome park that we are planning on spending the summer has wifi, if it doesn't then posting to this blog will be very limited.

I will post a few photographs of the prospecting setup as well as keep you all updated as to how our electric generator system is progressing.

Until next time.

Electromagnetic Radiation

This electromagnetic radiation research started from a News article in the local paper, but more on that later. I am going to start at the beginning, and where some of this Electromagnetic Radiation comes from.

Wikipedia defines electromagnetic radiation as "is a form of energy emitted and absorbed by charged particles which exhibits wave-like behaviour as it travels through space. EMR has both electric and magnetic field components, which stand in a fixed ratio of intensity to each other, and which oscillate in phase perpendicular to each other and perpendicular to the direction of energy and wave propagation. In a vacuum, electromagnetic radiation propagates at a characteristic speed, the speed of light."

Today we have an amazing amount of new devices that were not available 50 plus years ago. An example of one of these devices would be the telephone. The original telephones were connected by wires and located in most homes, and no I am not talking about the tin can phones that were connected to each other by a string that we used as kids. It did not take long to start having more than one phone in a house more for convenience than anything else and in some cases more than one telephone line. The kids were talking to their friends and nobody in the house was able to use the telephone. Today the wireless telephone is commonly used in a lot of homes. This type of telephone allows the user to walk from one room to another without having to drag a long wire behind them. The disadvantage of these phones are when the phone rings where is that wireless phone now, I guess that is progress.

Next came the cel phone that allowed the users to be able to take their phone with them in their pocket and make phone calls almost everywhere they go. Today texting has become a very popular use of the cel phone. Today the modern cel phone has become a small computer/camera address book and scheduler, that most people are carrying with them at all times. Today a lot of the children have been given cel phones by their parents so that they can keep in contact with their friends and yes the parents, the children se the cel phone is for communicating with their friends and maybe their parents if they have to. All one has to do is go to a local shopping mall and see how many children, teens, and adults you see talking or texting on their cel phones. Each one of these devices is radiating an electromagnetic field that is located right next to the person using the device.

The computers today have been miniaturized to the laptop computer and in recent years the, small hand held computers like the palm pilot and other hand held computer devices. Today the tablet and the cel phone have become the new gadgets that we must have. I am using an iPad to write this blog so what can I say.

Bluetooth devices are devices that connect to your computer or cel phone by a wireless system. More radiation at a different frquency.

We have entered into the wireless technology era where the devices have to be wireless even the internet has become wireless in a lot of homes. Today you can purchase computer printers that are able to print from computers over a wireless network called WIFI. I have been out of the computer field now for many years but I can only guess to how popular the wireless networks in business has become. You can go to your local coffee shop and have internet connection through the use of a WIFI wireless signal.

Years ago when television was first introduced to us the TV signal was broadcasted to the television set in our home by huge transmitters that put out thousands of watts of electromagnetic energy. Today that system of receiving television has been replaced by cable TV. The television signal is now brought into the home by a cable and since a lot of people today have more than one television this cable is found in almost every room of the house. I personally have seen some of the large motorhomes sporting as many as 5 televisions, how crazy is that? Even the largest motorhome is only 45 feet long so why would someone need that many televisions?

Each and every electronic device that we are using every day, television and radios are emitting a little electromagnetic radiation. How many of you have left the city and gone out in the countryside where there was no electricity, no cel phone coverage, and no WIFI, and listened to nature? If you were camping and after the first day or so of withdrawal of not having a computer connection or cel phone you will experience a new energized feeling in your body. I do gold prospecting and experience that feeling every time I am out by the river.

Why would we feel so much better being away from the city or town that we live in? My personal theory is that there is a lot less electromagnetic radiation effecting our bodies when we are away from most of the energy that is bombarding us on a daily bases.

The automobile that we drive has a very sophisticated computer system that is suppose to make them more efficient, at least that is what we are told. With all that electronics in them we can not help being exposed to their radiation every time we get into the vehicle.

Satellites are overhead in the sky, how many is any bodies guess, our governments will never admit how many to the public for national security reasons, that is if they know themselves. Each satellite is sending signals to earth from their transmitters and we all are being radiated by them.

Have you ever driven under a power line with the radio turned on? There is an AC buzz heard for a few seconds, that is the electromagnetic radiation from the power line. This is an extreme example, I know that I would never own a house that had those big power lines near by no matter how safe the power company said it was. There is a lot of things that we really do not know about electricity and its effects on the human body. At one time in the past electric shock was used as a therapy and even today an electric chair is used in penitentiaries. We all know what the results of sitting in that chair would be.

I have talked a lot about what electromagnetic radiation is, the real question is does it effect our bodies only time will tell, though it may be already happening and we don't know it yet.

It is a fact there are more diseases and stronger viruses today that what was recorded 50 to 80 years ago. More people are being diagnosed with cancer than ever before, part of this is our diagnostic procedures have become a lot more reliable that in the past. Is it the way we eat, electromagnetic radiation, pollution in the air, greenhouse effect, the radiation from the sun, or a combination of some or all of these. who knows for sure. I do not have an answer and what I found there are as many theories out there as there are sands on the beach, who knows if our scientists will every really know what the effects of all this electromagnetic radiation will have on the human body.

Certain frequencies of electromagnetic radiation has been proven to kill viruses and even cancer cells. More research does need to be made in the area of electromagnetic radiation. Maybe the frequencies used today need to be changed to give us all a healthier and safer environment to live in.

The next post will be on the news paper article.

This is something for you think on until next time.

Biolite Stove

I came across this unique product yesterday for charging your electronic devices. The advantage of this device is that it can also be used for heating and cooking, two very important things when one does not have any electricity.

The fuel is twigs and small pieces of wood. The company web page explains just how efficient and very affordable at only $129.95, this Biolite Stove is. The company web site address is http://www.biolitestove.com for everyone who is interested in viewing this amazing product.

As you all know we are retired, living in a motorhome and gold prospecting in Canada as well as writing this blog. There has been many times that we could have used a product like this when our propane had run out and we were not able to get to a town as the road out to the highway was too muddy due to a week of rain. A small camp stove like this would have been a tremendous help to us.

I am going to personally invest in one of these units. When I am sitting down at the river panning for gold it would be great to have a hot cup of coffee once in a while, and maybe a hot meal instead of a warm sandwich. The comforts of life.

If you are living in a city and the power goes off a product like this would sure make your life a lot easer.

A month ago I came across a fan that sat on top of a wood stove. When the stove got hot the fan would start to turn and blow the heat from the stove into the room. What a great concept. The fan had a small electric motor that turned the blades. I would have liked to have put my volt meter on the leads running to the motor to see how much voltage was being created, but since the owner was not around to ask for permission to do some testing, I had to control my curiosity.

This morning I read an article in the local paper that is going to be of interest to most people about the hazards of electronic radiation that we are being bombarded with every day. Look forward to this very interesting subject in my next blog post.

Until next time keep on keeping on.

Simple methods of charging batteries

My last blog focused on our dependancy on the use of electricity in our daily lives. Today we would all probably have a hard time surviving in our modern world without our cel phone, laptop computer and our tablets.

The one thing that these machines all have in common is that they all use batteries to power them and batteries all need to be charged on a regular bases to enable the devices to operate. Yes I know this is elementary but what would happen if for some reason the power was off in the town or city due to a natural disaster?

Today solar collectors have come down in price to a point that you can purchase one for minimum amount of money. With adapters you can modify the output to provide power to charge the batteries of your personal devices. Solar collectors work great as long as they have light to collect their energy. They do not produce very much energy if any at night.

Another idea would be to use the cigarette lighter in an Automobile to power the charging adaptors to charge your devices. If the auto battery starts to get run down from use you can always start the auto to recharge the battery. The trouble with this system is that if there is no fuel or the battery is too weak to start the auto then you would not be able to charge your batteries.

What could a person do then to be able to survive without electricity?

I just watched an interesting video on electrical energy this morning, you can find it at the following location http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=XMhAIdqH0Cs&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DXMhAIdqH0Cs this Youtube video is a must see video on alternative energy sources and the inventors who invented these amazing devices.

I personally am working on a design using the joule thief circuit as the starting point to creat a electrical charging circuit to charge and run my portable devices. I will release the drawings and the results of my experiments to all of my faithful followers from all around this beautiful world we live on.

Until next time keep on exploring alternative energy solutions.

Our Dependancy on Electricity

We are house sitting way out in the middle of nowhere. We do have electricity and the Internet but no TV, Radio, or Telephone, it is really a great life just the dogs and nature. We are really fortunate that we have wood heat as if the electricity fail we will still be able to survive. In rural areas it is not uncommon for the electricity to be off for long periods of time.

Just a month and a half ago we were house sitting in Enderby Bc when the power went off for a little over four hours. That house also had a wood heater and we were able to keep comfortably warm. The neighbours on either side were not that lucky, they had no alternative way to heat their homes and both families were getting quite cold. It is the middle of winter here and the temperature does drop quite significantly.

The buzz words today in North America are getting off the grid. Everyone I talk to has a different idea as to what that means to them. Some people believe that they can produce all their own electrical power and not have to buy electricity fro their local power company. Though this is a great idea, it is not as easy or as simple as they might think. We have become so dependant on electricity today that most of us would have to change our whole life style.

I was in a store last summer picking up some food, there was a wild rain storm happening outside when suddenly the store went dark except for the emergency battery powered lights it was dark. The intercom also must have had a battery backup as a voice over the intercom told all the customers to leave their purchases and exit the door. The cash registers were dead so no sales could be transacted. As I left the store is saw a bank across the parking lot with its customers exiting the doors without the money that they had gone in to get. The whole town was brought to a grinding halt from the lack of electricity. Leaving town the service stations were closed as they had no way to pump their gas as well as no way to transact the sale as the sales till was inoperative.

How many people today have a cel phone? I know they run on a battery, but the batteries do discharge and some time when you need it it is dead. I know just plug it in but if the power is off you are without a phone.

I hope this has got a few people out there thinking of how important electricity is to every one of us in our daily lives. I want to give you all a challenge make a list of every time you use electricity for just one day. Every time you turn a light on, look at the electric wall clock, turn the stove on, the furnace turns on, etc, etc. I think you will be very surprised, I know I was more than a little shocked.

This is a start to a new series on electricity and how to start producing devices that will help to maintain your current life style even in the event of a long electrical outage.

If anyone wants to share some of their ideas with the group send me an email at alternative.energy.blog@gmail.com

Until next time keep on inventing.

Pareto's Principal applied to life.

Today is going to be a rambling day. The topic is not one of the usual topics for my blog but is designed to help all you inventors out there to evaluate your time and energies that you put into creating your inventions. I learned about the 80-20 rule in a management seminar that I took many years ago. Believe it or not it still holds true today, so what is this 80-20 rule you are asking yourself. Wikipedia describes it as follows:

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

Let me give you some examples.

If you had a business 20% of your customers would generate 80% of your total sales.

Using the 80-20 rule an animal such as your family pet 20% of the time thinking in the past, 80% of the time thinking in the present. This example is over simplified I know but it gives you an idea how the 80-20 rule works.

The 80-20 rule can be broken down a little finer and in my opinion it needs to be in situations.

When a person is working at a job 20% of the time is spent retrieving past or learned knowledge, 64% of the time is applying this knowledge to the current project and 16% of the time is spent planning the next steps in the project. Hence the (16+64)= 80-20 rule.

When you are talking with your friends how much time do you spend talking about the present an the future as compared to things that happened in the past? You may be surprised at the results.

Have you ever noticed older retired people talk more about the past and very little about the present and the future?

You can not change what has happened in the past, though I have known many people through out my life who lived most of their time in the past. My one grandfather being one of them who sat in his rocking chair smoking his pipe and watching the world pass him by. He only talked of the past, his whole world was the past, what a depressing existence.

When people get wronged for whatever reason they get mad and hurt but the past is gust that the past and can not be changed. My dad held a grudge for a couple of families that when he was a paper carrier as a boy had not paid him. That is not a healthy attitude for one thing but it could not be changed so what was the purpose of fretting about it was I never could understand.

I do not always accomplish the 80-20 rule by living my life 20% in the past and 80% in the present and future but I do try. The present and the future can be changed not the past so I believe that it is more beneficial to spend my time trying to change.

For all you inventors out there the 80-20 rule should be one of the tools that you use for inventing.

Anyway that is about all that I have to say for now, keep on keeping on.

The Famous Joule Thief

Here is a electronic circuit that anyone can build at a minimal cost. From what I have seen on the Internet there are many different applications that you can expand on using the Joule Thief as the key component to your experiments.

One video used the circuit with the battery disconnected, now I did not see how long the circuit ran but as the power seemed to be coming from the discharge of a capacitor in the circuit.

The following is a description From Wikipedia.

The circuit works by rapidly switching the transistor. Initially, current enters the transistor base terminal (through the resistor and secondary winding), causing it to begin conducting collector current through the primary winding. This induces a voltage in the secondary winding (positive, because of the winding polarity, see dot convention) which turns the transistor on harder. This self-stoking/positive-feedback process almost instantly turns the transistor on as hard as possible (putting it in the saturation region), making the collector-emitter path look like essentially a closed switch (since VCE will be only about 0.1 volts, assuming that the base current is high enough). With the primary winding effectively across the battery, the current increases at a rate proportional to the supply voltage divided by the inductance. Switch-off of the transistor takes place by different mechanisms dependent upon supply voltage.
The predominant mode of operation relies on the non-linearity of the inductor (this does not apply to air core coils). As the current ramps up it reaches a point, dependent upon the material and geometry of the core, where the ferrite saturates (the core may be made of material other than ferrite). The resulting magnetic field stops increasing and the current in the secondary winding is lost, depriving the transistor of base drive and the transistor starts to turn off. The magnetic field starts to collapse, driving current in the coil into the light emitting diode (raising the voltage until conduction occurs) and the reducing magnetic field induces a reverse current in the secondary, turning the transistor hard off.
At lower supply voltages a different mode of operation takes over: The gain of a transistor is not linear with VCE. At low supply voltages (typically 0.75v and below) the transistor requires a larger base current to maintain saturation as the collector current increases. Hence, when it reaches a critical collector current, the base drive available becomes insufficient and the transistor starts to pinch off and the previously described positive feedback action occurs turning it hard off.
To summarize, once the current in the coils stops increasing for any reason, the transistor goes into the cutoff region (and opens the collector-emitter "switch"). The magnetic field collapses, inducing however much voltage is necessary to make the load conduct, or for the secondary-winding current to find some other path.
When the field is back to zero, the whole sequence repeats; with the battery ramping-up the primary-winding current until the transistor switches on.
If the load on the circuit is very small the rate of rise and ultimate voltage at the collector is limited only by stray capacitances, and may rise to more than 100 times the supply voltage. For this reason, it is imperative that a load is always connected so that the transistor is not damaged. Note that, because VCE is mirrored back to the secondary, failure of the transistor due to a small load will occur through the reverse VBE limit for the transistor being exceeded (this occurs at a much lower value than VCEmax).
The transistor dissipates very little energy, even at high oscillating frequencies, because it spends most of its time in the fully on or fully off state, thus minimizing the switching losses.
The switching frequency in the example circuit opposite is about 50 kHz. The light-emitting diode will blink at this rate, but the persistence of the human eye means that this will not be noticed.[1]

A simple shunt-regulator for loads requiring a constant voltage
When a more constant output voltage is desired, a voltage regulator can be added to the output of the first schematic. In this example of a simple shunt-regulator, a blocking diode ("D_rect") allows the secondary winding to charge a filter capacitor ("C_filter") but prevents the transistor from discharging the capacitor. A Zener diode ("Z1") is used to limit the maximum output voltage.

Part Nine

This is the last in the series on retirement. What I tried to say in all these posts was there are many ways to generate a LITTLE EXTRA income to supplement your passive income without having to spend a huge amount of your savings. You could build a large amount of extra income if you were so inclined, that is if you want to spend all your spare time working. I thought that being retired was just that, retired and not having to work all that had even if you are now working for yourself. One does not have to spend their whole life working until they die.

For someone like myself this is something that I have a hard time trying to get through my thick head. It probably is because I have been self employed most of my life, and I have always enjoyed work and working. I enjoy the rush that I get from building a successful business.

The trouble with this is that even though I was self employed and had my own businesses it was always me that was trading my hours for money. Like most people I never built any business that would generate a passive income for me. Sure when I sold the business or stopped working the money stopped also.

My whole working life I went from Employee (working for someone) to self employed (working for myself) and never had the knowledge before now to be able to take the next step to building a business where I could generate a passive income.

I have been watching a couple of shows on tv lately, The Dragon's Den and The Shark Tank. These are shows about 5 people who have built huge businesses and are now taking their wealth and investing in small businesses. The small businesses must meet the Dragon's criteria before they will invest in an idea. Each year a lot of small business are helped by this group of business investors. The investors receive for their investment a passive income which continues as long as the the business operates.

Let us recap what we have learned:

EMPLOYEE
80% OF THE WORKING PEOPLE
SELF EMPLOYED

BIG BUSINESS
20% OF THE WORKING PEOPLE
INVESTMENT

For those of you that have not retired yet if you decide that you want to have a larger inflation proof passive income than you would receive from your pension then you had better learn some new skills to be able to accomplish this. You and only you will be able to accomplish what you want to accomplish, there is no one who can do it for you. Learn those new skills and become more prosperous.

With that in mind this is the last in this series on Retirement. Thank you for following this blog.

Part Eight

I started this series off by talking about all the things a person learns through out there life and if not passed on to the younger people, it gets lost to the world. A good example of this is Nicola Tesla a great inventor who lived from July 1856 to January 1943. So many of his ideas and inventions have been lost thought the years because even though he had patents on the his inventions, not all the information was included in them thus making a lot of them virtually impossible to duplicate them. Tesla had no family to pass on all his knowledge, and even with today's technology some of his inventions can not be duplicated.

Today writing a book or a series of short stories is a great way to pass on a person's knowledge for future generations. Writing a blog is another way to pass on knowledge, much like this one. There is a blog that I have found http://junevollans.blogspot.ca/ has a post that describes a way that you can publish a book if that is the direction that you want to take with the all the free time that we now have in retirement years.

This is kind of a short post today, we had to pack up and move from the place we had been house sitting for the last two months. I am very tired and have to turn in early.

Until next time keep on keeping on.

Part Seven

There are any number of ways that you can generate a little extra income each month whether it is active or passive income.

Affiliate programs are programs where you advertise a companies products either with a website or by direct marketing the information and a third way is advertising the products with an infomercial. You will receive a commission on each product that is sold by your sales program. The interesting part of this type of business is that you can generate both active as well as passive income depending on how you structure your business.

The downside of this type of business is that there are usually hundreds if not thousands of other people doing the same thing as you as we'll as marketing to the same people that you would be marketing to.

The question is can you make money selling other people's products with your business?

An affiliate marketing program is very similar to a network marketing program or even a large business where the products are sold by a large number of sales representative or individual business from all around the world. The manufacturer of the products rely on the affiliates to sell their product for them thus creating a passive income for the owner. The owner of this type of company is building a business in such a way as to be able to sell it in the future as a product in much the same way as someone who builds a widget and then sells the widget to a customer. In this case the widget is the business that generates a passive income for the new owner and is worth more than a widget that does not generate any income.

Where I am going with this train of thought is that if you were to create a product what ever it might be you might want to consider a marketing it through an affiliate program.

Businesses have been around for thousands of years, it has been only since the industrial revolution that businesses have grown to the point where they need to have many employees to keep them operational.

As an individual we look at IBM, Apple, or Microsoft with their thousands of employees and say to ourselves that these businesses are so large there is no way that an individual today could ever build a business that big today. Well that is not true for one thing as Apple started in a garage on a very small investment much the same way Bill Gates started Microsoft and look at where they are today.

I am not telling you that you should set your goals that you are going to make billions of dollars, that is very unrealistic. Personally I can not even comprehend that much money. I am retired and do not need the stress associated with building a business of that size.

I truly hope that this series of posts give you some serious in site into how to create a little more passive income in your pocket. My next post will be on writing a book, getting it published and options on how to market it.

Until next time keep on keeping on.

Retirement Part Six

How to choose a network marketing company.

How do you choose the right Network Marketing company to work with? There are thousands of different network marketing companies to choose from.

Is Network Marketing For Me?

First, you will want to evaluate whether a Network Marketing business is for you or not. Network Marketing is an equal opportunity business. It doesn't require special degrees, unusual talents, and is open to everyone regardless of gender, race or age. However, it's definitely not for everyone! Ask yourself the following questions…

Do I Have The Time And Money To Invest In Starting A Business?

Your answer to this first, and most important question will determine whether you can realistically start a Network Marketing business: Without a resounding "yes" you will not be able to get your business off the ground. A business, even one with a very low initial investment, requires an output of time, money and energy, otherwise it cannot flourish. Money does not come rolling in automatically after you sign up (although some might want you to think it's "that easy").

Those promises made by "automated recruiters" and self replicating web pages that you won't have to talk to people are not true! Not one of the major, successful Network Marketing companies has grown through this method. Don't be fooled by ads for a "free" business, as all businesses require some tools in order to get started.

And… after all, ever seen a business without money floating around? I not.

Many Network Marketing businesses can be started for under $500, some for less and some for more. You will need to purchase a selection of products in order to experience them for yourself.

You will also have some regular overhead costs such as long distance phone service, 3 way calling service, voice mail, postage, a day planner/schedule book, as well as tapes, brochures, videos, product samples, websites, leads, or other prospecting tools. Most Network Marketing companies also require that you be a regular consumer of their products in order to receive commissions, so you will also have a monthly purchase requirement. (Usually $70-$250, depending on the company.)

Am I Willing And Able To Learn And Apply Something New?

Network marketing is a unique business. It is also at it's heart a simple business. If you have tremendous success in other areas, even in traditional business, this does not guarantee your success as a networker. You must be willing to learn an entirely new way of doing business! What you do must be able to be easily taught to others.

In Network Marketing we call this being duplicatable. When you are showing someone your business opportunity, they are thinking to themselves, "Can I do this business?" The business needs to be simple enough for the average person. Your Network Marketing business is not the place to show off your special talents, your impressive business attire, and your stunning presentation skills. Humility is a great gift for a network marketer. It will allow you to learn quickly from those who are more experienced than yourself.

Those who begin a Network Marketing business with a large ego and the need to prove their know-how have less chance for success because they are not teachable.

Am I Motivated To Succeed?

Having a "compelling why," a reason that you are doing a Network Marketing business, is essential.

Perhaps you want to have the time and financial freedom to spend more time with your family? Perhaps you want just a few hundred extra dollars per month to save for a special vacation? You'd like to pay off your mortgage? Donate to favorite causes? Travel the world? Have enough freedom to be able to not work for a month?

Whatever your motivation, it must be strong and compelling enough to overcome what I like to call "everyday inertia." What is "everyday inertia"?

It is the tendency many of us have to do the easiest things first, and to postpone until tomorrow those actions which are less comfortable, especially high risk activities like phone calls that might expose you to rejection!

Can I Handle Discouragement And Rejection?

While many people that you talk with will be excited to try your products and to hear about your business opportunity, not everyone in your life will be interested. In fact, some people will be prejudiced against Network Marketing because of a bad experience or hearsay. Some people, regardless of what facts you offer, choose to believe that Network Marketing is illegal. Some will tell you you're crazy for doing it! Some people will look down upon you or think you are silly for pursuing your dreams. Some of these folks might be your friends and family, even your spouse or children!

You must be willing to handle the inevitable opposition that you encounter from people who aren't able or willing to see the potential of network marketing. You must be able to let go of these unpleasant encounters and reconnect with your own vision and "compelling why" before deciding for a Network Marketing company.

Can I Work My Business Regularly — At Least 10 Hours A Week?

If your life is so full that you are not able to spare at least 5 focused hours a week to devote to building your business, think about re-prioritizing your schedule. What is most important to you right now? If you cannot spare at minimum that 5 hours a week, then it may not be the right time to start a business.

Your business will only grow without regular, persistent effort.

Do I Care About People? Am I Generous And Willing To Help Others?

The essence of Network Marketing is about helping others to succeed. You prosper by helping others to prosper. Without a genuine interest in the well being of others and the willingness to help them reach their goals (not your goals for them), you will not develop a strong and lasting network of loyal customers and distributors.

Some Network Marketing companies promise a totally automated business, where you won't need to talk with people. However, only a very small percentage of people are recruited without talking to a real person, and no one has ever built a lasting network marketing organization without having real conversations with people!

E-mail and Web sites alone cannot provide the face to face connection and relationship that builds loyalty and customer retention in your group. Live conversations and relationship building are what create true connection.

Do I Have Enthusiasm And A Positive Outlook?

If you expect to fail you will. Not only because you expect it — you will communicate this to your potential customers and distributors.

You must believe that success is possible. Many successful distributors have studied books on visualization and positive thinking and have attributed their success to having learned to reprogram their thoughts.

Do I Have Integrity?

In Network Marketing you are the president and CEO of your own organization. There is a responsibility in this, a responsibility to serve your customers and distributors. All those that you bring into the business will look to you for leadership and guidance. They will do what you do!

If your actions are compromising of your values and beliefs, your organization will reflect this, and you will find your customers and distributors end up going elsewhere!

Am I Willing To Persist In The Face Of Difficulty?

Many Network Marketing experts have said that there are only two ways to fail in Network Marketing: to never begin, or to begin and then give up. Many successful distributors attribute their success to dogged persistence in the face of adversity and obstacles.

What do you think now? Is Network Marketing for you?

If most of your answers to the above questions were "No" or "Well, maybe", then it may not be the right kind of home based business for you. However, if you had many "Yes" answers, then please move on! Here are some tips to assist you in choosing the right Network Marketing company for you…

Know Yourself!

Network Marketing has been called "referral based marketing." Instead of using large advertising campaigns, the network marketer conversationally markets her or his products or business opportunity in the course of everyday life… with family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, church or school members… and then teaches others to do the same thing.

Network Marketing becomes a part of your life that is integrated with your other activities. Conversational marketing does not mean pestering, pressuring, or coercing one's acquaintances and loved ones. It does mean that you must sincerely and truthfully believe in the value of the products and the business opportunity that your company provides.

You must be a product of your company's products so that the positive results that you receive are noticeable or easily shared with others. If your company sells skin care products, use the products and experience the benefits of them. Share the benefits of your Network Marketing business with others, like more free time, great tax benefits, great team support, etc.

Separate the offer for the products from the offer for the business opportunity. This is critical! Never offer both together, or you simply scream prospects away! Or… did you ever think of selling the services of your cable TV provider? I guess not. I think you rather simply want to use their service and recommend it to others instead of selling it at the same time. Please see Kim Klaver's approach for more details on this.

You must want to share the product and business with others! Would you want to share this company's products or business opportunity with your loved ones? If not, then find another company.

In order to find a Network Marketing company that provides a product and an opportunity that you believe in, you must first know yourself… What is your passion in life? What do you care deeply about? What are your interests? These are important questions because in Network Marketing your heart, your enthusiasm, and your passion communicate themselves to others even more profoundly than the words that you use. You cannot fool your friends and family by sharing a product or business opportunity that you don't believe in yourself.

Nowadays, there are a broad range of products and services distributed through Network Marketing. By far the most popular seem to be the the nutritional companies. In the 1997 MLM Insider's list of Best Companies (chosen from the distributors point of view) all 12 companies chosen offered nutritional products.

Even today, the majority of successful Network Marketing companies provide nutritional products. Some companies like Watkins, Amway and Melaleuca offer a full range of products and services to their customers and distributors. Some companies specialize in a particular product or service, like Pre-Paid Legal Services, The Gourmet Coffee Club, or Discovery Toys.

Most Network Marketing companies fall into one of the following categories, however this is not an exhaustive list…

Nutritional/Health Products
Cosmetics
Telecommunications (long distance/satellite/internet access)
Business Services (advertising, leads, publications)
Services (legal, travel, financial/debt reduction, motivational, dental/medical insurance)
Full Service Companies (a wide range of household, nutrition, personal care, and services)
Non Consumable Items (air and water purifiers, toys, books, clothing, jewelry, coins, stamps)
Food products (groceries, gourmet food, coffee)
More companies nowadays are broadening their product lines in order to offer more benefits to their customers and distributors.

What To Look For In A Company

If you are new to Network Marketing, I strongly suggest that you choose a company that is already well established. Why? Start-up companies may offer wonderful "ground floor" opportunities, but statistics show that 85% of new network marketing companies go out of business within the first five years, most of them within the first 18 months.

Exceptions prove the rule. For example, a previous founder and CEO of a highly praised MLM company now founded a new company, offering high quality products and a solid business plan again. Such a new company certainly has a more solid foundation than a usual new company. Make sense?

As a beginner, you will have an easier time learning the business with a company and a team that is established and has in place many tools and systems for supporting it's distributors.

My own experience of working with two start up companies (one of them with amateurish behaviour) included a lot of baby mistakes that could be avoided with better planning and appropriate leaders.

Either way, once you gain some experience you may find start up opportunities with companies or teams that you trust, and by then you will know your way around the industry better to make a more informed decision.

The Network Marketing Industry is constantly in transition and the one constant in all this change is relationships. Find good mentors that you trust. Good mentoring is essential in the Network Marketing industry. It is one of the keys to your Network Marketing success.

This is a large post I know and a lot of information for everyone to digest. The next post will give you information on some of the network marketing companies out there as well as the types of products that they are marketing.

Until then keep on keeping on.

Retirement Part Five

One way to give you more money you could be a Walmart greeter, or start repairing appliances or small engines, or buying things at yard sales then reselling them on eBay or flea markets. If you are in to those kind of things and if done right any of these ideas can and will supplement your pension income while reducing the amount of free time. I have been watching a television program called pickers. these people go around the country buying old as well as interesting things and then resell them in the city for a profit most of the time. A person has to have money to do this and you would be again trading your time for dollars and when you stop so does the income. That is unless you had people working for you doing this type of business. There is your passive income coming into play.

You could always go down to the river and pan for gold. I know it is a lot of hard physical work, but you are outside in the fresh air, getting lots of physical exercise and it really doesn't take all that much gold to make an ounce. This again is active income and when you stop gold prospecting your income would stop, here again if you had honest people prospecting for you could change the active income for passive income.

A few days ago I was looking at some videos on YouTube and came across some videos by Robert Kiyosaki the author of the famous book Rich Dad Poor Dad. Robert talked about network marketing as a business opportunity that is a great vehicle for creating passive income, the kind of income that we are looking for as retires. Many people who have built a successful network marketing business have done so by recognizing the possibilities in using it as a vehicle to create a large passive income a positive cash flow, and in using that cash flow to build their wealth. A important key to creating wealth is having a positive cash flow, that cash can be used to invest in other positive cash flow opportunities. I agree you do have to use your free time to build a business to start with but as the business grows you will be able to reclaim some of your free time.

What is network marketing? Network marketing is no different from traditional business in that it has a particular product or service available for purchase by those who choose it.

There are a large number of people who have not made any money from their network marketing business, and usually the first thing they blame is the business, not themselves. Most of them did not plug into the support system, were not active enough in their business, did not give it long enough to work and, most importantly, did not treat it as a real business. If they had started a traditional business with the same lack of focus and respect, they would have failed there also. Because in most cases the start-up costs of a network marketing business are very low, this can be reflected in the commitment given to the business.

The important thing you need to know is that many thousands of people have made money from network marketing, much of it significant, and so can you if you decide to work at it. Being in network marketing is no different to being in traditional business—if you don’t work the business, the business won’t work for you.

How many people do you know that started a fitness program or a diet only to quit after a few weeks or months?

Was the program at fault or was it that the people that were doing the program?

In business, more importantly, consider how many people start a traditional business and fail. The figures are truly alarming (in some areas, nine out of ten businesses fail within the first two years), and in most cases people lose everything as a result. If we focused on this fact, no one would want to start a business and the economy would probably collapse.

Being successful in any business is more about attitude than anything else.

But the wonderful thing about most network marketing models and companies is that they have been proven to work in the past—which means, at least theoretically, that you can make it work as well. In other words, they are based on a tried, tested and proven model.

If you take only one key message from this presentation it is this: approach your network marketing business with the right attitude, stay positive, have goals and dreams and you will make it work for you.

You will notice that I did not suggest a network marketing company and that was for two reasons. The first one is that everyone is different and what type of business that you would enjoy doing may not be the type of business that I would get excited about and want to do. The second reason is that at this time I have no idea what type of business I want to be in myself.

My next blog will be how to realistically take the information that I have presented in the first parts of this series and carefully build a business that will generate a passive income that will supplement your pension income without cutting into your hard earned savings.

I am not sure when I will be able to write the next post as the owner of the house we are house sitting for is suppose to be coming home if not today, in the next two to three days so I have no idea when I will be able to get on line again.

Until the next time keep on keeping on.

Retirement Part Four

As you can see a business could be one way to achieve a larger passive income than what we now have. But what exactly is a business?

This is how Wikipedia defines a business:

A business (also known as enterprise or firm) is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers.[1] Businesses are predominant in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and administered to earn profit to increase the wealth of their owners. Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company, although that term also has a more precise meaning.

The etymology of "business" relates to the state of being busy either as an individual or society as a whole, doing commercially viable and profitable work. The term "business" has at least three usages, depending on the scope — the singular usage to mean a particular organization; the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, "the music business" and compound forms such as agribusiness; and the broadest meaning, which encompasses all activity by the community of suppliers of goods and services. However, the exact definition of business, like much else in the philosophy of business, is a matter of debate and complexity of meanings.

That is a great description but really doesn't tell us much. Anyone can start their own small business. A business requires an investment of time as well as money and statistically most small businesses fail within the first two years of operation. And don't forget you are getting older each year. This could eventually produce a passive income for you if the business survived the first few years, but if it didn't then you stand to loose your life's savings and maybe even your home. A retired person does not have the luxury of being able to start over, they just do not have the years left.

If starting a business is not the answer then what is?

You could stay at home doing what ever and being content to live on your pension and having what you have and being limited to what you are able to do. If that is the way that you are comfortable with the that is great and I commend you.

One of my grandfathers did just that he retired and sat in his rocking chair, smoked his pipe and waited for death to take him. That was pre television era, today he would probably sit in front of a television smoking his pipe. That was what retirement mention to him. He never passed on any knowledge he had acquired through out his working career to any of his grandchildren. He just sat there on his porch and watched the world pass by.

On the other hand my other grandfather was active and always learning new things right up until the day he died. Yes he did get to experience a little bit of the television era, which made the news come alive foe him. He would always end the day by watching the late night news before retiring to bed. He tried to pass on his knowledge to his grandchildren, though it was not until years later that I was able to understand some of the things that he taught me. Today some of my core values can be traced back to what he taught me. One thing he told me and i would like to pass it on to you is "You only live once, so make the most of it", "how do you want people to remember you?".

That is something to think on. Now what can we do to make our lives more abundant?

Retirement Part Three

I left my last post kind of hanging for a reason. I do not know about you cokes but when someone tells me that I am too old or not smart enough it is like waving a red flag in front of a bull. I get stubborn and make it a point that I will show them, who ever they are that I can build a business or do what ever, just get out of my way I am coming through.

The first thing I learned was that there are two types of income.

Active income is described as trading hours for dollars. This is the way that 80% of all of all people today make their income.

Passive Income is best described by examples, income from property rentals, investment income, pension income, to name just a few. The rich of the world acquire most of their income from passive income the same as we do from our pensions, the only difference is that their income is a lot more than ours.

Wealthy people learn to work smarter not harder. I heard that statement repeated over and over through out my working career, applied it to what I was doing at the time and missed the whole concept. Who ever came up with the concept of working smarter not harder had to have seen the true way of creating a business and wealth.

I bought an existing business back in 1974. I was young and figured I new everything. I was able to make a successful business but, in actual fact the income I generated was mostly active income. I was trading my hours for money, I had to work more hours to make the business successful. I ended up having to hire a couple of people just so that I was able to work more hours doing the business. To be honest at the time I had no idea that I was actually generating more income with the help of my employees. All I could see was that the employees were an expense to my business. As I look back at it today I think how stupid my reasoning was. Today I would not make that mistake, other mistakes, well that is something else.

Building a business that generates a passive income to the owner the answer to creating wealth. But everyone does not see wealth the same. For a wealthy person that makes over say $15,000.00 per month an extra $1,000.00 per month isn't all that much, but to someone on a small monthly pension a $1,000.00 is a great deal of money.

Each and every person that decides they would like to have more money each month has to sit down and decide exactly how much money the want and then make a decision as to what they want to do to accomplish this.

A lot of people get scared when they think about starting a business because they do not understand what a business is. Business is nothing more than a game where people evaluate their success by the amount of money they can accumulate.

How many of you have played the game of Monopoly? For those that may have forgotten how it is played. Basically it is a game of business where each player tries to end up with all the money, you know just like Bill Gates. The US government probably had to print more money because of him.

Until my next post keep on keeping on.

Retiring Part Two

Trying to live on a fixed income can be very, hard that is unless you are receiving pensions that are the size of the pensions that our retired politicians receive. Being fair to them they are probably feeling that they are being hard done by because their standard of living is so much higher that the rest of us middle class.

Today every one gauges their income based on the value we place on the dollar. In actual fact the dollar decreases in value every year.

Our Canadian currency as well as many other countries currencies from around the world is based upon the value of the American Currency. When the US went off the gold standard they were able to deflate their dollar by printing more money. Canada followed right behind the US by going off the gold standard. Our government can now print as much money as they want without having to back their money with gold what a great concept. To me this sounds a lot like a counterfeiter who print worthless money and expects to pass it off to anyone who will take it.

Note:
Did you know that an ounce of gold today buys the same amount as it did 100 years ago when it was only $16.00 per ounce. To me that means that our dollar is really not worth very much. In Germany after the Second World War the German mark was so devalued it took huge sums of them to purchase even the basics such as bread and other staples. Our money is going the same way.

When I started work back in 1962 at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon I was making $210.00 per month. I bought a brand new car in 1966 for the grand total of $2,650.00. Gold at that time was only $32.00 per ounce. Today an ounce of gold is over $1,600.00 per ounce and a car is $xxxxx. Financially are we any further ahead than we were when we started working?

Now for the good news. People that are on fixed incomes such as a retirement pension do have a great advantage over today's working population, even though most of them would disagree when they were asked. Everyone who receives a pension no matter how small has most of their physical needs met such as shelter, food and clothing. Yes, I agree that more money would be of help to do the things that we want. The one thing that these people seem to forget when they retire from the work force is that they have an additional 40 or more hours each week that they have to spend on what ever they want. Yes these people are rich in free time. In fact most people will use all this new found hours in the day on things that they always wanted to do. Most when asked will say that they are busier now than when they were working and would never have the time to go back to work. Could they use more money than what they are currently receiving from their pensions, absolutely but most of us are so brainwashed by our society that we can not start our own business at our age because we are too old, not smart enough, and should be retired.

Stay tuned for some interesting ideas and concepts tomorrow in part three of this exciting series.

Keep on keeping on.

Retirement

I am starting a new series today on retirement, what it is, how it will effect you, and how it could benefit you in allow you to become even more successful than you ever dreamed possible while working for a living.

Hind sight is always 20 20, well that may be true but as a retired person we now have a opportunity to grasp the brass ring and live life as we have never experienced it before.

I think all of you have felt the financial stress of the work world that we have left. And to be honest you will probably feel the financial hardship of being retired, but it is not the same, and it is not as hard on our stressed out bodies.

Your mind, that you have had to push to its limit learning new technologies just to be able to keep a job so that you can support your family, will now be able to relax now that you don't have to work. The problem there is that your mind has been working at such a fast pace for so long it takes a while for it to slow down to the retirement pace. It took me personally 2 1/2 years for my mind to start slowing down and to get me out of the work mode. I spent most of my life self employed and this may be the reason that it has taken me so long to start slowing down.

A story I heard years ago was about a man called was bankrupt at age 65 who went on to create a huge successful fast food empire, Kentucky Fried Chicken. This man at an age when most people are leaving the work force, and without any savings to back him managed to build a very substantial income by working smarter not harder.

Retirement happens to all of us whether we want to or not. When we reach a certain age society tells us that we are not wanted any more in the work force. We are given a pension, a lot smaller amount of money than we had been making at our job, and told to go home and stay there.

Some of us that were self employed were lucky in that they were able to work for a few years longer, but our bodies like any well designed machine are designed to only work for so long before they start to break down.

Everyone of us over the years has accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge. Some good, some bad, in a the career that we had chosen to work in many long years ago when we were young. Some of that accumulated knowledge gets passed on to our kids and grand children but most of it gets forgotten as the years pass by.

Some of the professions that we started in when we were young have been eliminated by today's newer technologies. The tools of today are the computers, they can be found everywhere, in our automobiles, and even in our kitchens. Today computers have become an essential part of our lives whether we want it or not.

A lady I knew in Saskatoon bought her first computer when she was 90 years old. She wrote and published 4 books while sitting at home. This lady woke up one day and decided that she wanted to pass on some of her knowledge for future generations.

I have talked about a lot of things and will give you a day to digest what I have just said.

Until tomorrow keep on keeping on.

Latest news

We have left Alberta Canada and am located in Enderby British Columbia. The weather out here is great, no snow and a lot warmer than Alberta.

I am sorry about not being able to keep up with my blog as the place we are at does not have internet. I am currently researching a blog on alternative energy educational toys that are avcailable for today's young inventive children. It really makes me wish that I was 60 years younger when I look at all the products that are available for the young people today.

I will try to get this article completed in the next week or so.

If anyone out there wants to add a post of your own let me know, I could sure use some help these days.

Until next time keep on inventing.

Gadgetman Groove

Just got a new email from Ron at Gadgetman Groove:

Hello!
I have some really GREAT news for all of us in Gadgetman Land.
On Monday the 26th at 12 Noon, I will be a guest on Al Cole's “People of Distinction”, a nationally syndicated radio program focusing on people that are actually making a difference on this planet. (details on the show follow in bold print)
During this show, we will be announcing our plan to produce a vastly enhanced training program. What we're going to be doing is launching an IndieGoGo campaign to raise the money we need to make it happen. And in this, we will want your support.
To produce the new training program, we need about $50,000. Once a segment of the project is completed, it will be made available to everyone that has turned in their paperwork on their licensing first. Then, it will be included in the new Personal License Program with at least 4 hours of training for the beginner as well as a vastly enhanced training manual.
I'll let you know when that campaign is launched, some time between now and the time the show airs.
Spread the word!
We look for great things to happen as a result of this show, and it is because of all you guys and your efforts to spread this technology we are finally gaining some recognition at the highest of levels.
The information, provided by Al's assistant follows:
Your interview is scheduled to be aired on Monday, November 26th and, for optimum listener access, will be repeated from 12pm to midnight of that day.
Live365 Radio is Al's Syndication Flagship Station. This is the link to Al's Live365 Radio Network. Your interview, at the time of airing, will be accessed through this link: http://www.live365.com/stations/alcoleradio?site=pro&play=1 This will also work through your I-tunes browser.
The Gadgetman Groove is about to go global as we have only dreamed.
Please support us by sharing this information with all your friends!

Quantum Free Energy

I discovered this site today Quantum Free Energy and it is an alternative energy device that is currently being developed. There was a very interesting part that I am including now that describes what is happening in our world today.

After the end of the 'Cold War' era our civilization entered a 'No - World - War' epoque. In this relatively peaceful time economic strength wields greater power than military strength. China, with only 500 nuclear war-heads in stock, steadily is becoming World Power #1 replacing U.S.A. from this top world position. Within one decade since now China will become top dominant country in the world. China will dictate the rules in the world economy, finances, and politics. Because China manufactures everything; because China became 'world factory'; because China innovates in all spheres of human activity; because China does not ruin its economy with unjustified wars for oil and world political/economical dominance.
British Empire lost its status of World Power #1 when it stopped to be 'world factory'. U.S.A. now is repeating the errors of its predecessor: U.S.A. exported (to the new developing countries, mostly China) big part of its manufacturing potential in order to make huge profits for its ruling Rich Class.
Revolutionary innovations in science & technology drive tomorrow's revolutionary changes of the world economy and world social/economical/political system.
Discovered by me new class 2-D quantum macro-objects will become frontier of science & technology next decades. Practical applications of these (still unknown by conventional science) exotic material objects will change drastically (to the better) the face and quality of our civilization. These are:
  • Quantum Free Energy (QFE) - inexhaustible in amount of energy generation and power, fuelless, absolutely friendly to the climate and life on our planet, very inexpensive, simple technology, no monopoly of the Big Oil and Big Dirty Fossil Fuel/'Nuclear Electrical, .. energy source.
  • Super-fast communication devices and computers not limited by the speed of light
  • Very compact(small dimensions), powerful, very inexpensive quantum generators of extremely dense UV, X-rays, and Gama-Rays.
  • Very compact, powerful, inexpensive accelerators of elementary particles and atomic nuclei
  • Quantum Macro-Biology
  • Quantum Macro-Medicine
  • Quantum Weapons(quantum cannons, rockets, QPB)
  • Etc, etc.

Hope everyone enjoys the web site Quantum Free Energy

Until next time keep on inventing new technologies.
